The exciting challenge of this project is to work on cardboard-only 1:1 structures meant to interfere and interact with the flows of students, teachers and stuff in the Architecture University of Paris la Villette after an analysis of the fluxes in the main public spaces of the school. So to encourage the users to reflect on their predefined pattern and pushes them to explore new ways. This exercise addresses questions of architecture, sculpture, construction, and town planning on a local scale. The process is articulated in 2 stages: one first phase of one day for analysis and design via sketches, hand-drawn technical drawings and simple scale models, and a second production phase of three days where work is initially carried out in small groups that then join forces to bring more manpower to the stronger projects. In the last conclusive day, all participants gather to share observations on how the built structures are being used by the stakeholders of the Architecture University, and accordingly to make the last improvements to the structures for them to become better integrated within the daily life of the stakeholder community. Special architectural and structural attention is given to networks, deviations, impediments, claims, uses, obstructions, savings, overlays, contacts, regulations, connections, breaks, continuities.
